At Life Christian Preschool, we recognize that every child is different and working on different skills. We support the children throughout the day with building and developing their independence and confidence; their play/social skills; and their academic kindergarten readiness skills. We use a faith based curriculum from Abeka. We also use Purposeful Design for 34 weeks of bible lessons and memory verses. In addition to 30 minutes of recess daily, the children participate in a 30 minute "specials" class. Our Specials are PE, art and a library/music combination. PE is Tuesday and Friday; art is Wednesday and library/music is Thursday. LCP is a preschool where our environment is enriched with teachers that truly love their students. The atmosphere at our school is very friendly and family oriented. We are committed to excellence and strive to prepare all of our students for life in the twenty-first century by providing them with a Christian preschool education that is balanced and challenging. For this reason, we incorporate music, art, physical education, library and Chapel into our weekly activities. Our school hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm. We offer a 3, 4 or 5 days a week option for our 2 1/2 and 3 years old. For our PreK-4 years old (your child must be 4 by September 30th), we have a 4 or 5 days option that includes Spanish lessons once or twice a week depending on the number of days the child is enrolled. Our 2 1/2 year olds work on recognizing their shapes, colors, number 1 to 10, name recognition and start learning the alphabet. The Abeka curriculum for our 3 year olds, covers letter recognition; beginning sounds productions, fine motor strengthening, numbers and math skills for 1 - 15. The Abeka PreK curriculum covers early math skills (greater than/less than, skipping count by 10s, patterns) and numbers 1 - 20, phonics (beginning sounds), handwriting, fine motor skills, beginning readers and sight words. We also offer extended care from 8am to 4pm for an additional fee. Our extended care program for our 2 1/2 and 3 years is play based with a rest time. For our PreK, our extended care is STEM based. Our school year is September to May; with 3 weeks of optional extended school year in June. We also offer half-day REC camps in July. There is a strong sense of community spirit woven into our school culture. Our Purpose Statement echoes our school’s desire to have students and teachers learn and work in a caring Christian school climate.
